Restrepo is an award winning documentary that follows a platoon of American soldiers for one year in their deployment to the Korangal Valley. The film was codirected by Tim Hetherington and Sebastian Junger. It was released sometime in the year 2010, but in North America it was released to theaters on June 25th 2010. Among the awards it has won are two Emmys in 2010 for Outstanding Continuous Coverage of a News event- Long Form and Outstanding Individual Achievement in Craft- Editing for Michael Levine and the National Geographic Channel. It was also nominated for an Oscar in Best Documentary, Features.
