Ethos
This appeal has some powerful meaning and application to the whole documentary. As seen in many parts of the documentary, there are little interviews with each of the soldiers. As noticed, the interviews show their emotion and allow the viewer to connect but it also allow for not so much of an assumption but an anticipation to what is to come. It also allows the viewer to reflect and understand what has happened and really feel as if they were in that event.
Pathos
This appeals reasons are similar to the one on top but is used in more scenes. This allows the viewer to not only see and hear what ones opinion is on the event taking place, but to also connect emotionally. You get to hear and see the emotion on most of their faces, learn who is who, and really connect to each of them. You start to really feel what they are saying and connect.
Logos
Most of the scenes use this appeal as they are more of a sit-back-and-think scene. An example would be where the soldiers are talking to the citizens of Afghanistan. This is one of the scenes where I needed to really listen because most of their reasoning and planning happened at these times. It allows the viewer to see the logic behind what they’re doing.
